![]() ![]() In my opinion for berseria, Rokurou is specialist for one target close combat and Velvet can rush and berserk every combo. Everything else works for me.Originally posted by Reason:In every battle or strategy RPG, the balance party must have close combat+mid range+long range. I'm just trying to figure out if I should even waste my time with Magilous first healing spell, I'm barely able to finish the speel so far before the fight is over or before I get interrupted. I feel like this is what I'm going to go with to in the end. Magilou has strong and fast offensive spells, can shut down enemy spells, and "LOOK, A SHOOTING STAR!".Įizen I'll typically swap with Magilou if there aren't any enemy spellcasters, or with Eleanor if he has a better type match-up, but the ladies and Phi are typically the party I run with, too. Eleanor is great at close-mid range with a good mix/match of physical and spell attacks (plus she can pop a revive if necessary). Laphicet has good healing spells that are fast, cheap, and can remove status effects (so they're at least somewhat useful on higher difficulties), plus he gets some beastly AOE spells. Originally posted by Sup3rNo7a:- Velvet's just a beast, plain and simple (and I love it, personally). If his health ever drops below whatever threshold you have his aggressiveness set to (Balanced = Attacks while HP is 50% or more, etc.), swap him out immediately, because all he'll do from that point on is either continuously run away and suck up healing Artes from the other character's trying to keep him alive, or get hit and die in the process. I've tried several different settings combinations for him under the AI Strategy menu and I just can't seem to find one where he can consistently stay alive. He is very squishy while the AI is controlling him, though. I've seen video's of people who are pretty good with him, though, so I'd just say he has a pretty steep learning curve, if anything. It's that he's vulnerable during his attacks as I mentioned earlier, and his Break Soul isn't as good for combo-ing and self-healing as most of the other characters' are. His problem isn't that he has poor defense, though. Using it does also greatly increase his Stun chance even if you don't counter an attack with it, but just guarding for 2-3 seconds can do that, so it's not worth it for that utility alone. His Break Soul is also primarily a counter, which aren't always easy to time because of how hard it can be to read/time enemy attacks sometimes. He is very difficult to use yourself due to how much his attacks move him around in very awkward ways, and also have pretty lengthy animations which seems to make it easier for enemies to interrupt him. Saying he's useless is a bit strong, but I can't disagree with the overall assessment in that I also almost never have him in my party. A Tier, for being useful in fights where Velvet is weak. The second best melle character in most situations, but worse than Eizen vs stunable enemies. Her break souls gets enemies off the ground, which is good for extending combos. Use her instead of Velvet if you are fighting many enemies weak to water, fire, or earth. S Tier, for consistent usefulness, and situationaly amazing power.Įleanor - Good AOE melle damage, basically does spin attacks, which are great if she is standing in a group of enemies. Play her vs mages, keep in party vs most enemies. Her break soul cancels enemy spells, and does very large AOE damage in return. She is amazing to use when fighting spell casters, but the AI is bad at using her. a Tier, because he is awesome, in ideal conditions. Extreamly strong at easily stunable groups, weak vs bosses. His break soul does large AOE damage to stunned enemies, and knocks down more, which allows him to do more AOE damage on. He is fairly weak in normal combat, but if the enemies are easy to stun/knock down, he becomes a beast. B Tier, for consistent usefulness.Įizen - Should specialize in either physical attack, or magic, not both. ![]() Weak break soul, but at least he can use it at will. Keep in party if enemy is not strong vs physical damage. Laphicet - Good for AOE magic physical damage. His break soul is a counter, but thats pointless, since all break souls give invincibility frames, but his only works if he gets hit. His attacks move him around a lot, which makes it difficult to land consecutive hits on a single target. Rokuru - Worst character by far, should never be in your party, unless you are using him for achievements. S Tier, for being borderline invincible vs stunable enemies. Do not let the AI use her break soul, or it will kill itself with it. Always use vs enemies weak to physical, use against tough single enemies weak to wind/fire. Velvet - Stellar at single target physical damage, immortal as long as she can get a steady supply of souls for your break soul. ![]()
